Morgan Byrd, PT, DPT


 

Dr. Morgan Byrd's philosophy is to change people's lives everyday – through passion and persistence change can be realized! Morgan's passion extends to her enjoyment in working with a wide range of patients including children and the elderly.

Morgan's passion and persistence also stems from her educational and gymnastics career. In 2018, Morgan received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from West Coast University, Los Angeles, CA. Morgan received her Bachelor's Degree from James Madison University (JMU) in Exercise Science (2014), and helped to advance the JMU Duke's to the National Club Gymnastics Championship. Prior to transferring to JMU she served as a Division I Women's Gymnast at Central Michigan University.

Morgan brings varied techniques through her West Coast and East Coast Physical Therapy rotations, training and experiences. Morgan has a passion for athletic and concussion rehab, musical therapy, orthopedic conditions, post-surgical issues, blood flow restriction and dry needling. She brings along, invaluable insight on athletic injuries from her own personal experience – as a former competitive gymnast for 18 years. Morgan has worked with younger athletes, as well as Olympic bound athletes. As an athlete and prior physical therapy patient herself, Morgan has an understanding for the physical, emotional, and rehabilitative aspects of getting the patient back to the highest quality of life and an athlete back to a successful competitive posture.

Morgan is a violinist who has played for and with prestigious orchestras and have traveled to other countries for her musical career. Due to Morgan's athletic and musical background, she has been effective in emotionally connecting with patients from different walks of life in achieving and rehabilitating them back to their current level of function.

Morgan is a certified Zumba instructor. On the weekends, you can find Morgan in the gym, at Kazaxe, instructing Zumba, attending church, watching funny movies and dramas on TV, traveling, enjoying foods of all kinds – enjoying life!

Morgan brings skills, energy, dedication and passion to her patients. Her patients describe her as knowledgeable, caring, and professional.
