Joseph A. Shrout, M.D

Dr. Shrout is a board certified orthopedic surgeon who has spent 24 years of active duty service with the U.S. Army. He has served in multiple locations throughout his military career, treating our country’s servicemen and servicewomen for their orthopedic injuries, and he takes pride in his high rate of return to full duty for these patients. He holds his primary board certification in orthopedic surgery, with additional subspecialty training and board certifications in both hand surgery and orthopedic sports medicine. Now in his full-time career with M.O.S.T., he brings his expertise in the field of sports related injuries of the throwing and overhead athletes to help our patients of all athletic abilities achieve maximum recovery for optimum performance. Additionally, he has extensive experience in the repair and reconstruction of common sports related injuries of the knee, shoulder, elbow, wrist, and hand. Specific areas of interest are:

  • Knee ACL reconstruction and meniscal repair
  • Fractures of the hand, wrist, forearm, elbow, and shoulder
