James E. Gilbert, M.D.

Dr. James Gilbert is President and CEO of Metro Orthopedics & Sports Therapy. He is board certified in orthopaedic surgery and specializes in sports medicine. His expertise is in sports related injuries and advanced arthroscopic techniques for which he teaches and lectures extensively. Dr. Gilbert was born and raised in DC. He has practiced sports medicine in the Metropolitan DC area for over ten years. He has worked as a team physician and consultant for professional sports teams including US Soccer, DC United, and the Washington Freedom.
